The Assassination of Snow Miser By The Coward Heat Miser

January 07, 2015 by Adam Sternbergh

At holiday time, Salon asks a few fiction writers to compose holiday-themed two-sentence stories. This past holiday, the theme was Snow Miser and Heat Miser, those two miserly singing half-brothers whose Claymation (?) Christmas special was 40 years old (!!) in 2014.

To be perfectly honest, until I got this assignment, I more closely associated "Heatmiser" with the early 90s alt-band of the same name, which featured Elliott Smith before he went solo — and I've always wondered where the name came from.

Here are all the stories, including mine. I won't say it's the best one, but I am definitely proud that it's the shortest.
